Despite his young age, Elias Pylvänäinen has made art for a long time. Already in elementary school, he drew detailed landscapes of everyday places such as public swimming pools and train stations.
Nowadays, Elias Pylvänäinen’s visual expression has moved into more expressionism direction. Pylvänäinen uses drawing and painting tools without prejudice. The works are often based on popular culture, portraits and perceptions of everyday life. A sharp-eyed may find familiar characters in the works, such as Härski Hartikainen or Pekka Puupää.
In his latest works, Pylvänäinen observes the surrounding society and reflects on his interests. The Dudesons do tricks, the rock bands pose with their instruments. He often describes traffic, not forgetting infrastructure; buzzing mopeds, cars and trains rattling on the rails. Moped riders are waiting kindly in front of red traffic lights.
