Sonja Salakka’s primary artistic focus is painting and ceramics. Skilful colour comparisons and expressive brushwork are typical of her paintings. Sonja is interested in different countries and cultures, which inspire her art. Especially japanese and mexican cultures interest her. Sonja Salakka works in Kaarisilta Art Studio. She has gratuated Vocational Cultural Education Studies in Visual Arts in year 2014.

Different cultures are beautiful, especially the Japanese and Mexican culture. There are great landscapes in those countries. I’ve seen them on documentaries on TV. Art means joy to me. I paint these topics because I want to respect different cultures.
