Mikael Alanko graduated as a Visual Expression Practitioner in 2022 from Salpaus Further Education. Despite his young age, Alanko has already participated in numerous exhibitions, the most notable being Generation 2020 at Amos Rex and his solo exhibition at Gallery Uusi Kipinä in 2023. He is a highly versatile artist, interested in both two- and three-dimensional work as well as animation. Alanko’s works are powerful and often carry a strong message.

I believe the world cannot be changed through violence, but by fighting against evil. While atheism and Buddhism debate—though respectfully—over the philosophical question of God’s existence, my own answer and guiding principle in life is philosophy.
I escape reality into a world of fantasy. In a way, I want to understand myself. I like metal music. I create a world out of culture and mythology. I read military history. Music and history inspire me.
