Jasse Korvakangas
Drawing has been my favorite pastime since I was a small child, right alongside my fascination with dinosaurs and animals. Even today, my art mostly focuses on nature-related themes: animals, dinosaurs and prehistory, imaginary creatures, future animals, speculation about the future, natural landscapes, comics, and fantasy worlds.
I work with pencils, ink pens, manga pens, watercolors (aquarelle), and acrylic paints. My artistic strengths include perspective, color, visualizing characters in my mind, and often illustrating scenes or events happening in the image.
I create art because it’s my way of enjoying life, relaxing, and having fun. If I’ve had a bad day or feel down, drawing helps me recover. Through drawing, I can bring my ideas to life on paper or canvas—whether it’s a new animal or dinosaur concept, or an imaginary creature. I draw inspiration from nature and prehistory documentaries, movies, comics, anime, manga, other artists’ works, and art exhibitions.
My biggest supporters are my teachers from art school, my family, relatives, and friends. I work from my home studio.
