Emmi Timmons is a Canadian-Finnish, self-taught visual artist who works mainly with large-scale acrylic paintings. She has been painting since 2017 and has developed a strong, colourful and emotionally appealing abstract expression.
Timmons’ work is based on an intuitive and bodily process, where colors, rhythm and layering are at the center. She works without pre-set expectations and lets the works build up during painting. For her, music and painting are ways to express herself, calm the mind and share experiences without words.
In her art, Timmons deals with emotions, the inner world and becoming visible. Her goal is to bring visibility, hope and inspiration to those who feel outside of society or typical developmental paths, so that everyone’s gifts can be seen.
Timmons works as a professional artist in Finland, sells her works internationally and realizes commissioned works for individuals and companies. Community, inclusion and sharing of art are central to her artistic thinking.
