Eero Lahtinen paints mythical gods and events related to the legends of different cultures. As a painter, Lahtinen is precise and has a strong vision of the finished work. Lahtinen says that painting is a nice thing to do: when the work is finished, it feels great.
In a painting series drawing on Japanese mythology, Lahtinen has depicted the creators of the world, Izanagi and Izanami, as well as the birth of the gods of the sun, moon and storm. In the painting Benten – the Japanese goddess of music, the white snake symbolizes jealousy.
Eero works at the Autism Foundation’s Vallila art studio. He has participated in several group exhibitions, such as the Kaarisilta Biennale, and in 2024 he held his first solo exhibition at Gallery IPIOMA.

Art Studio: Artstudio in Vallila
I started drawing things back in middle school. My best drawing was a three-headed dragon. After middle school, I didn’t draw much for a while. But something about the Vallila art studio got me excited about drawing again.
It all began when I was watching Marvel superheroes and Thor mentioned the Nine Realms. I decided to find out more about them. I searched for information from different sources and found a book about the gods of the Nordic countries. I drew pictures of the realms, and a little later I started painting them as well.
